A real collector’s treasure - a beautiful, striking quilt.
This Attic Windows art quilt, titled Conflicting Perspectives, was handmade in April 1977 by quilt artist John Mangiapane and is published in his book The Quilt Project: My Quilts & Quilting 1975–1986.
The actual book featuring this quilt is included with the sale, which makes this a wonderful, documented piece for anyone who appreciates quilts with real history behind them.
Mangiapane was active during the American quilt revival era, exhibited widely, and research indicates that a couple of his quilts are represented in museum collections, including the International Quilt Study Center & Museum.
The bold perspective design and strong color contrast give this quilt a really striking presence - one of those pieces that honestly looks even better in person.
It has a nice balance of vintage character and modern graphic appeal that still feels fresh today.
