Antique Drunkard’s Path quilt, circa 1895–1910 (approximately 115–130 years old).
Beautiful example of this classic American quilt pattern. The curved blocks are machine pieced, likely using a treadle sewing machine, and the quilt is hand quilted throughout, with cross-hatch quilting across the field and feather wreath quilting visible on the back.
Background fabrics appear to be turn-of-the-century shirting prints paired with red cotton blocks. The backing appears to be repurposed feed or flour sack cotton, something commonly used by quilt makers of the period.

Condition:
There is one area of fabric fading and thinning in the red fabric, along with a few spots where the fabric shows wear but does not go through to the batting, as shown in the photos. There are a few small scattered spots on the front and backing. There are also two early repairs on the back, each approximately 1 inch in diameter, indicating the quilt was cared for and maintained over time. The quilt remains structurally sound and displays beautifully.
Antique quilts may show signs of age such as wear, fading, small spots, or minor fabric loss. These are not considered flaws but rather characteristics of antique textiles that have been used and cared for over many generations.
This is a beautiful example of American folk art and a true piece of textile history.
